How an LSSA meeting led Landmark and OrdoLux to complete an integration in one day

Contract Pack Vault was not on Avi Gordon’s integration list when he arrived at an LSSA members’ meeting. By the end of Rob Gurney’s presentation, he wanted to know how it could connect with OrdoLux.

Preparing, checking and sharing a contract pack is an established part of conveyancing. The pack contains the legal documents and property information the seller’s solicitor provides to the buyer’s solicitor.

Contract Pack Vault is a digital platform developed by Landmark to support this process. It checks the pack for missing or incorrect information before the documents are shared securely.

Connecting the platform with OrdoLux allows matter information and documents to pass directly between the two systems. This gives OrdoLux users access to specialist contract-pack functionality without entering the same information twice or transferring files manually. It also connects Landmark’s technology with another legal case management system.

Their teams completed the integration in one day.

Building credibility and partnerships

OrdoLux only began actively selling its cloud-native legal software in 2026. As a new business entering the legal technology market, it needed to establish credibility with law firms that take a cautious approach to adopting new platforms.

Avi Gordon joined the LSSA after being referred by another member with whom OrdoLux was developing a third-party integration.

Avi Gordon, Senior Solicitor & Founder of OrdoLux

“The credibility of LSSA membership was particularly important for us,” says Avi. “We were new to the market and asking law firms to trust our technology. Membership shows that we are prepared to be accountable and work to industry standards.”

Partnerships have formed part of OrdoLux’s plans from the outset.

Avi wants it to become the first system a lawyer opens each morning. He also recognises that lawyers will continue to use specialist products alongside their main legal software.

“Our aim is not to build every function ourselves,” he says. “We want to connect OrdoLux with specialist technology and allow information already held in a matter to flow into those products.”

Landmark approached LSSA membership from the position of an established legal technology business. Rob regards the Association as a quality mark and a place where suppliers can exchange ideas, consider market developments and find opportunities to collaborate.

“The LSSA gives us a sounding board and helps us see what is happening across the market,” says Rob. “There is a genuine desire among members to move the legal software industry forward.”

Why the integration matters for conveyancers

The platform’s focus on improving the contract-pack process resonated with Avi, both as a solicitor and as someone who had experienced difficult property transactions personally.

“I listened to Rob and immediately thought that we needed the integration in OrdoLux,” says Avi. “The idea of getting the necessary information together at the beginning made complete sense.”

Once the buyer’s solicitor receives a contract pack, she or he examines the documents and raises questions about missing or unclear information.

According to Landmark, the average period between the first enquiry being raised and the final enquiry being resolved is 52 days. Landmark customers deem three-quarters of additional enquiries unnecessary because the information should have been supplied earlier.

The delay does not come solely from the time needed to answer a question. Each additional enquiry joins a lawyer’s workload alongside hundreds of other matters. The response may then prompt another question and another wait.

Landmark’s platform aims to reduce this cycle by checking the contract pack before it is sent to the buyer’s conveyancer.

For OrdoLux, adding this functionality supports a broader offer to conveyancing firms while keeping matter information within its core platform.

This can have a direct commercial benefit in fixed-price conveyancing. Avi says that saving five, 10 or 15 minutes on one transaction becomes meaningful when repeated across a firm’s caseload.

Built to connect

Contract Pack Vault (CPV) supports four stages of the contract-pack process: creation, population, analysis and sharing.

Landmark’s research found that conveyancing firms wanted pack creation and population automated within their case management system. They were comfortable moving into CPV for the AI-powered analysis.

The OrdoLux integration follows this model. Matter data and documents already held in OrdoLux support the first two stages before the conveyancer moves into CPV for the analysis.

The technical foundations of the two platforms allowed their teams to put this workflow in place quickly. OrdoLux was built as a cloud-native, API-first platform. An application programming interface, or API, allows different software products to exchange information automatically.

OrdoLux was already equipped to receive webhooks and process information from other systems. Its use of Microsoft SharePoint to store matter documents also aligned with the way CPV handles documents.

CPV is similarly supported by a modern API. Neither team therefore had to adapt legacy technology to make the connection work.

The teams also maintained a quick exchange of information throughout the development. Avi’s team sent technical queries as they arose, with Landmark responding within one or two hours.

“The integration was working within a day,” says Avi. “We sent questions as they arose and received quick answers from Landmark. There was no special infrastructure that we needed to build.”

Rob says the design of both platforms was equally important.

“When two products have been built to connect with other technology, the technical conversation is much more straightforward,” he says. “We could focus on how the information needed to move between the platforms rather than finding ways around older infrastructure.”

The value of meeting in person

The Landmark collaboration is OrdoLux’s third partnership with an LSSA member. At the time of the interview, Avi was also in early discussions with a fourth.

“The LSSA has given us credibility and introduced us to businesses we can work with,” he says. “I had not heard of CPV before the meeting. Rob’s presentation and the conversation we had afterwards led directly to the integration.”

Rob doubts whether the relationship would have developed in the same way through an online meeting.

“If we had all been on Teams, Avi might have heard the presentation, but we probably would not have had the same conversation,” he says. “Sitting next to each other meant we could discuss the opportunity there and then.”

Kevin Horlock, LSSA, CEO

Kevin Horlock, CEO of the LSSA, says, “LSSA members bring different expertise and technology to the Association. Meeting in person allows them to identify complementary strengths and develop collaborations that improve how law firms work.”

The completed integration adds specialist contract-pack functionality to OrdoLux while providing Landmark with a connection to another case management platform.

It began with an LSSA presentation and a conversation between two members sitting next to each other. One working day of technical development connected their platforms.
