LSSA white paper helps law firms ensure smooth implementation of legal software

The Legal Software Suppliers Association (LSSA) has published a white paper for law firms that outlines how to ensure the smooth implementation of legal software.

The white paper aims to set out the essential items for legal software professionals to consider when implementing new software.

“The decision to change your software product is significant“ comments Tim Smith, Chair of the LSSA. “Procuring new software can be a daunting task. It is not something that occurs very often. This white paper sets out the essential issues you should consider and will help prepare you for a successful procurement process.”

• Importance of agreeing the scope of the project
• Key pointers for what should be included within the scope (data migration, functionality, training)

Sign off

• Identifying key milestones
• Setting KPI’s
• How to constructively manage late or poor delivery from your supplier

Varying objectives

• What should be considered when looking to amend the project scope
• What are the potential risks to the project including time and increased costs

Project reviews

• Why is it important to review the project post completion
• What should be included within the project review
• Who should be included in the project review
