The Law Society welcomes Quill as its first outsourced legal cashiering affiliate partner

SUMMARY

The Law Society announces that it has appointed Quill as one of its trusted practice management software providers and outsourced legal cashiering suppliers – making Quill the first-ever legal cashiering supplier recommended by the Law Society.

Quill achieved this commendation following a comprehensive due diligence process where the Law Society independently reviewed Quill’s quality standards, cybersecurity measures, financial stability, corporate social responsibility (CSR) objectives, data protection controls and business continuity management processes.

With a long history in legal software, and as the largest outsourced legal cashiering bureau in the UK, Quill will work alongside The Law Society to provide a one-stop-shop for the software and service needs of all its members – 260,000 in total, including all qualified practising lawyers in England and Wales.

This new partnership aims to help solicitors work smarter and more efficiently in a hyper-mobile world by delivering resources and guidance specifically designed for the legal sector. As well as supporting webinars and providing practical advice, Quill will offer expert legal cashiering services and competitive rates on its legal software directly to Law Society members. Its self-named Quill software contains functionality for document and case management, plus SRA-compliant legal accounts, all within a secure, cloud-based environment.

With the two organisations having joined forces, members of The Law Society can now receive a special offer of a month free of legal software when they first sign up to Quill for at least a year.

Commenting on the news, Fiona O’Mahony, head of partnerships at the Law Society, said:

“We’re pleased to begin a partnership with Quill. It’s the first time the Law Society has been able to promote an outsourced legal cashiering provider to our members. With the legal sector moving faster than ever, we believe our members will welcome their solution to running a law firm in today’s ever-changing world.

We’re looking forward to working closely with Quill as our affiliate partner. Their expertise and knowledge in the legal sector will support our members in all aspects of front- and back-office management.”

Julian Bryan, Managing Director at Quill, also commented on the innovative nature of the collaboration:

“We’re absolutely delighted to have partnered with such a prestigious organisation as the Law Society. Our commitment to delivering quality services and sound, practical software to our customers is at the heart of everything we do.

Now, as a Law Society affiliate partner, Quill can continue to take our passion for making life easier for law firms to even more legal professionals.”

Quill has been working with law firms ever since the company was first established in Manchester in 1978. Over 40 years later, Quill now boasts more than 9,000 users, spread across more than 750 small to medium-sized law firms.

The company helps law firms streamline and operate smoother by providing simple and easy-to-use practice management and legal accounts software, in addition to outsourced legal cashiering, digital post room, payroll and typing services. Their goal is to provide an offering that is less costly than the wider market but still equally feature-rich while maintaining exceptionally high standards of client support and training.

For instance, Quill’s legal cashiering service has been built to “take the stress” out of running legal accounts. Law firms can outsource their accounts to experienced legal cashiers who are active members of the ILFM, with years of experience working within the legal sector and managing law firms’ financial accounts in accordance with the latest regulatory rules.
